What you will do:

We are looking for a CTO to lead the engineering effort at Tomplay and to design state-of-the art solutions in order to solve complex technological challenges. Your responsibilities will cover the following:

· With the support of the management, you will prepare and implement the product roadmap and set up timeline for the development and deployment of all new releases and technological services.

· You will manage the engineering team, communicate these timelines and objectives while coordinating with the management.

· You will oversee the scalability of our infrastructure to make sure it can support Tomplay’s fast traffic growth.

· You will oversee the proper documentation of our infrastructure, codebase and methodologies in order to facilitate the onboarding of new members. You will promote best practices in the engineering team in order to improve clarity and efficiency.

· You will lead the R&D effort in order to promote state-of-the art system design, architectural choices and coding best practices. That includes for example our AWS infrastructure, future AWS products we will use, the deployment of our infrastructure in China, audio processing third-party software or analytics and performance monitoring software.

· You will keep a consumer-focused perspective and discuss product roadmaps adjustment with the management, based on the user feedback.

· You will build the necessary cross-platform KPI dashboards and monitor these for the management to get accurate and relevant KPIs to make decisions.

· You will oversee the hiring process of the new employees and assess the performance of your team.

What you bring:

· Master’s degree in computer science or related field.

· Proven experience as a CTO or similar leadership role, preferably in an ecommerce company.

· Broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies, advanced knowledge of software architecture and system design and a demonstrated history with technology. Tomplay technology stack includes Laravel, PHP, Apache, MySQL, Stripe and Paypal APIs, Apache SOLR, Javascript, jQuery, Bootstrap (website) and Unity framework (apps).

· Good knowledge and experience with Amazon AWS services, including EC2 servers with load balancers, Aurora, CloudFront, memory-based caching services, deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipelines). Your main responsibilities here will be to monitor the whole infrastructure workflow, finding weak links and suggest optimizations. You will also be in charge of supervising the implementation of new AWS tools, such as c for custom score recommendations.

· You have experience with the scaling-up of a SaaS or ecommerce company, including international deployments. Previous experience with the Chinese market and with the deployment of a tech infrastructure there is a plus.

· You are customer-focused and have strong experience in building, monitoring, and adjusting a product roadmap which meets the company’s expectation and targets.

· Strong team management skills and ability to motivate and delegate efficiently.

· English speaking, very good communication skills, open-minded, precise and solution oriented. Initiative and involvement are highly appreciated.

· Playing a music instrument is a plus.
